Short synopsis

The sparkling new version of Sinbad is a traditional family pantomime that is especially suited to groups with lots of women and children, and is full of slap stick, silly jokes and the usual outrageous characters. Sprinkled amongst the panto are songs by the Beatles with rewritten lyrics that cleverly enhance the plot.

Dragunda, the meanest and mightiest magician in the World is looking to rule the Universe but to do so must obtain three different feathers from three different birds on three mystical islands.  However, only someone honest pure and true can undertake such a task which is where our hero Sinbad comes in.  The evil Dragunda kidnaps Princess Yasmin, who Sinbad has immediately fallen in love with, and will only release her when Sinbad has captured all three feathers.  Sinbad vows to complete the task and rescue the Sultan of Baghdad’s daughter in exchange for the Sultan’s promise that he can marry Princess Yasmin. Cap’n Pugh offers his ship, the Fairy Queen, along with his crew (who bear more than a passing resemblance to the Teletubbies) to the Sultan (for a  modest daily fee) and so they all set sail, complete with Mrs Sinbad, Sinbad’s mother who in the absence of any other offers professes to be a cook.

They first arrive at the Isle of Juven, which is inhabited by only children, then sail on to No Man’s Land populated entirely by women, before finally arriving at Oomagolee Island, encountering adventures at each of them in an attempt to capture the three mystical feathers.

Will Sinbad succeed?  Will Princess Yasmin escape Dragunda’s incompetent assistants Deli and Beli, or will Dragunda become the meanest and mightiest ruler not just of the world but the universe?

Frequently asked questions

Can we try before we buy?

Of course! All our plays and pantomimes have a free Preview Script available for download as an A4 pdf file that contains 60-75% of the full script. If you like what you read then you can buy an inexpensive e-script of the entire play (typically less than half the cost of a traditional printed script) which is licensed to you for your personal use. Purchasing a script copying licence allows you to make just enough copies to support rehearsals and performances.

All our musicals are included in our perusal service. Through this, representatives of producing organisations can request a USB Stick of perusal material  which comprise the script/libretto and piano/vocal score as PDF files; a Cast (or Studio) Recording as MP3 files and (where available) an MP4 file video of either the premiere production or of a subsequent production.

Some titles have the facility to read the entire script online on our website.

Do we need a Licence To Perform?

The simple answer is, yes.

Under the international laws of copyright, you must be in possession of a valid, unexpired licence before performing any piece of theatre unless the owner or managers of the copyright has waived their rights.

Why do you insist on providing a formal royalties quotation?

When you request a quotation, it is logged in our system, it forms part of an orderly queue and protects your place in that queue should multiple licensing requests occur for the same show.
