Short synopsis

An hilarious comedy set in the home of Stuart Holden which he shares with his partner Karen. Her mother claims she is being stalked which Stuart find ridiculous. His secretary Debbie has designs on him and causes all kinds of dilemmas for them all. On the scene comes an Irish private detective who is mistaken for a policeman, and a real policeman who gets confused with the relationship between Stuart, Debbie and Karen, all leading to innuendoes and comedy banter.

The action of the play takes place in the home of Stuart Holden a solicitor, a pleasant single storey home he shares with his girlfriend Karen Parish. Her mother Leonie is convinced that she is being stalked which Stuart finds unbelievable as she is rather a dotty elderly woman who gets her words mixed up.

Debbie Hunt is Stuart`s legal secretary, a rather vampish, attractive woman with designs on Stuart. Due to a misunderstanding at a local shop a policeman calls following a case of theft and assault on a store detective. Lots of misunderstandings lead him to mistake Karen for a cleaning lady which leads to an hilarious cover up on Stuart`s part and embarrassment on Karen's.
 
Introduce a naïve, Irish, private detective, Archibald Burke, who is mistaken for a policeman by Leonie who thinks he is there to help her find her stalker. All are gathered together on Friday evening so they can find out who he represents by Debbie agreeing to interrogate him. Unfortunately, the policeman arrives again and further misconceptions happen as each has the wrong idea of who each one is and what they are up to. The going in and out of the various rooms to keep their secrets make it possible for a further man to appear on the scene with even more revelations. Will it all turn out alright, or will it all lead to more trouble at the end?

Of course! All our plays and pantomimes have a free Preview Script available for download as an A4 pdf file that contains 60-75% of the full script. If you like what you read then you can buy an inexpensive e-script of the entire play (typically less than half the cost of a traditional printed script) which is licensed to you for your personal use. Purchasing a script copying licence allows you to make just enough copies to support rehearsals and performances.

All our musicals are included in our perusal service. Through this, representatives of producing organisations can request a USB Stick of perusal material  which comprise the script/libretto and piano/vocal score as PDF files; a Cast (or Studio) Recording as MP3 files and (where available) an MP4 file video of either the premiere production or of a subsequent production.

Do we need a Licence To Perform?

The simple answer is, yes.

Under the international laws of copyright, you must be in possession of a valid, unexpired licence before performing any piece of theatre unless the owner or managers of the copyright has waived their rights.
