Short synopsis

An artificial intelligence called Kal is threatening to take control of the world. It is up to Jesse, her friends, gods and demi-gods to work together to bring down Mr A Warbringer who owns Kaleidoscopic Studios. But with the gods soon to be out of action after not reading the small print on a contract, everyone is having to rely on Jesse, with her lack of mobile phone and only a coding book, to save them. Will she manage it? And who will pay the ultimate cost?

This is the sequel to ‘Jesse and the Bookkeepers’ and 'Fight For The Moon' but it will still work as a stand alone play but could also be performed as part of the trilogy.

Set mostly on Mount Olympus, the play follows the story of Tioni Moon and her brother Tiernan, and their fight to become the new ruler of the moon. The play begins following Tioni, Tiernan and Stella as they grow up together with Tiernan causing constant trouble alongside his sidekick Smudge. They soon discover from Artemis that they are in fact Princes and Princesses and that one day, one of them will become the King or the Queen of the Moon. Needless to say, Tiernan wants it to be him, so when he finds out that Tioni has been chosen to be the Queen, he begins his quest to change his destiny by seeking out information from the Bookkeepers and Scribes, and travelling to the human realm to try and gain power, including a trip to Burger King!

Things don’t quite go to plan and so Ares steps in to stir up more trouble, telling Tiernan that he’ll help him so that he can defeat his brother Zeus. He sends Tiernan to the Battle of Hastings to try and overthrow the King and become Monarch himself, but when Ares thinks he is about to be found out by Artemis, Apollo and Athena, he double crosses Tiernan, who as a punishment, ends up being imprisoned in The Stavoir with Smudge.

Zeus finally reveals to Artemis that Tioni, Tiernan and Stella are his children, and are in fact demi-gods, but little does he know, Ares is listening!

‘Fight for the Moon’ is designed so that it can be a cast of many, with an additional ensemble for customers and soldiers, or few with the use of multi-rolling, and other characters can be cast to suit the setting and genders. It is written so that it can also be rehearsed in isolated sections should you have a large cast, and the set can be large scale or small scale. It is a mixture of comedy and action so as to appeal to a varied audience.

This play is written so that Jesse,Kali and Smudge can be played by either a girl or a boy - pronouns will need to be changed. The same can be used for Mrs Carter. It is also designed so that you can have a cast of many or multi-role.

Frequently asked questions

Can we try before we buy?

Of course! All our plays and pantomimes have a free Preview Script available for download as an A4 pdf file that contains 60-75% of the full script. If you like what you read then you can buy an inexpensive e-script of the entire play (typically less than half the cost of a traditional printed script) which is licensed to you for your personal use. Purchasing a script copying licence allows you to make just enough copies to support rehearsals and performances.

All our musicals are included in our perusal service. Through this, representatives of producing organisations can request a USB Stick of perusal material  which comprise the script/libretto and piano/vocal score as PDF files; a Cast (or Studio) Recording as MP3 files and (where available) an MP4 file video of either the premiere production or of a subsequent production.

Some titles have the facility to read the entire script online on our website.

Do we need a Licence To Perform?

The simple answer is, yes.

Under the international laws of copyright, you must be in possession of a valid, unexpired licence before performing any piece of theatre unless the owner or managers of the copyright has waived their rights.

Why do you insist on providing a formal royalties quotation?

When you request a quotation, it is logged in our system, it forms part of an orderly queue and protects your place in that queue should multiple licensing requests occur for the same show.
