Richard joined his local Operatic and Dramatic Society at the age of twenty, and then in over sixty years in the Society, he directed thirteen plays and acted in one hundred and forty pantomimes, plays and musicals, mostly playing small character parts.

He started writing shows and has ended up with a catalogue of fifty-three pantomimes and plays which have been performed throughout all of the UK (including the Shetland Islands) as well as all overseas English-speaking countries and a number of others.

Now retired from the stage, Richard enjoys hearing when and where his plays and pantos are being performed.
