Born in 1961, Nicholas was lucky enough to benefit from a great education only to leave university full of impossible dreams of becoming a professional writer.

He has been dreaming ever since. Entering the first Mobil Playwriting Competition in 1986, he was shortlisted for his play 'Monopoly', had a reading at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, and then sold shares in order to produce it at The Red Lion Pub Theatre, Islington.

Since then he has written 30 Radio plays, 35 TV episodes (The Bill/Always & Everyone/Gems) had 15 plays produced (ICA/Orange Tree/Soho Theatre/Tours), 2 screenplays commissioned (BBC/Paramount), sold 2 series bibles, and been represented by 4 agents.

His first love was theatre, and has a special interest in Immersive Theatre. He has been lucky enough to attend the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, USA, which he regards as a piece of theatre created by its 65,000 attendees. He is a trustee of a charity WAYout Arts, which works with street children in Sierra Leone, helping them to make music and videos, and is a volunteer for Switchboard, the LGTB + Helpline.

He lives in South London with his husband, Jordan. He has two daughters.
